I used my 6qt Instant Pot DUO in this video:

Whole Chicken Recipe:

1 Uncooked Chicken (cook time will depend on how much your chicken weighs – 6 minutes per pound)
2 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 t. smoked paprika
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. onion powder
1 t. thyme
1/2 cup water or broth

Cooking instruction (I’m using a DUO 6qt):
Add 1/2 cup of water or broth and the trivet to the inner pot. Mix the spices together and rub all over the inside and outside of the chicken. Lock the lid and set the pressure valve to the “sealing” position. Press the “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” button and adjust the pressure level to “High”. Set the cook time for 6 minutes per pound that your chicken weighs (a 5lb chicken would be 30 minutes, etc.) After cook time finishes allow the pot to release pressure naturally for at least 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pot using the trivet handles. Strain and reserve the liquid for cooking rice in, if desired. Replace the chicken and trivet in the inner pot. Unplug the Instant Pot. Place the CrispLid on the pot and plug it in. Set the CrispLid to 475 degrees for 8 minutes or until it is crisped to your liking. Remove chicken and trivet from the pot and enjoy!

For the Rice:
Add reserved liquid from the chicken and add 3/4 cup of white jasmine rice for each cup of liquid. For this chicken I had 2 cups of liquid so I added 1 1/2 cups of rice. Stir to combine. Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes and then allow the pressure to release naturally for 5-10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
