How to Ferment Idly or Dosa Batter in Instant Pot

Idly Dosa Batter in Instant Pot
VEGAN
Recipe for Idly Batter :
Urad dal – 1 cup
Idly Rava ( Cream of Rice ) – 1 & 1/2 cups
Wash Urad dal 2 – 4 times and add water and soak for 6 hours or over night
After soaking drain the water and grind into soft and fluffy batter add water while grinding upto 1 & 1/4 cups
Wash idly rava and Soak for 30 minutes, after 30 minutes drain the water and squeeze the water from rava and add to the urad dal batter.
Mix Rava and batter well with hands
Place this in instant pot , and close the lid (you can use any lid or instant pot lid )
Press YOGURT – 8 Hours ( (or) 10 hours )
After 8 hours , the batter will be fermented .
To make Idly,
Add salt and little water if needed, mix well , the batter should be not runny or not thick .
spoon the batter and add to idly plates,
Steam idly’s for 10 minutes ( add water in a pot and place idly stand and cook for 10 minutes on a medium flame)
Tip How to know idly is done : when you touch idly ,batter should not stcik to your finger.

Dosa Batter Recipe :

Methi seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
