I’m new to pressure cooking and to YouTube. I thought this video might be useful for anyone out there who has just bought, or is looking to buy a new pressure cooker.

1T Coconut Oil
x Press FRY function, then press START to heat up the oil

1 Medium Onion, diced
2 Large Carrots, diced.
1t Fresh grated Ginger.
1/4t Hot Smoked Paprika
1/4t Turmeric Powder
x add carrots, onion, ginger and spices, fry for 3 MINUTES

2 Bay Leaves
2 Sprigs of Chopped Thyme or 1t Dried Thyme
960ml/2 Mugs of Stock, I used Vegetable Stock
480ml/1 Mug Water
200g/1C Green Lentils (rinsed)
200g/1C Red Lentils (rinsed)
1 Medium Potato (I used Sweet Potato) Peeled & Chopped
x Add to the pot, stir well, press CANCEL

x Close lid (by twisting anti- clockwise, i.e. Counter clockwise),
x Close Pressure use dial on the lid, so it is lowered, not proud, so the leaver should be in the 8 O’CLOCK position
x Select STEW/SOUP,
x Press TIME twice to select minutes, rotate anti-clockwise to reduce the default time to 15 MINUTES,
x Press START.

When fished, let sit for 15 minutes if you like soft lentils in your soup, otherwise just vent the steam off once the little red valve on the lid pops down again, use a long wooden spoon to nudge the pressure valve carefully to gently release the steam (be carful of anything I the way of the steam e.g. Cupboards, pictures, lights etc.
